The SUPERLATIVES of Inflight200

After 468 selections in 187 airlines by Inflight 200 model collectors, Delta Airlines tops them all!

Two weeks ago, I received an email from a grand Diecast aircraft retailer, asking for an opinion what would be most wanted among seven different aircraft types. From the Douglas dash 8, 9 and 10, from Boeing the B737 dash one or two, further to the new gen dash seven to nine, the B727 dash one and two and Boeing's first four jet engine masterpiece B707 and finally Lockheed's  Tristar L1011. There were 187 airlines mentioned in their wishlists and members from three forums contributed to the vote. www.400scalehangar.net, www.diecastaircraftforum.com and www.wings900.com.

Delta airlines on first place receiving 19 votes, then on with 10 votes Midway Airlines and United sharing the second place and on third place by three airlines, SAS, PanAm and American Airlines. Specifically the Delta Airlines DC-8 was highly preferred, with second place Midway's DC-9 and PanAm's B707.

Here are the categories with Most Wanted Airline:
Dc-8 : 1. Delta Airlines, 2.  SAS 3. Air Zaire
Dc-9 : 1. Midway, 2. North Central & Allegheny, 3. Northeast
Dc-10: 1.American Airlines, 2. Western & CP Air, 3. LanChile, Biman, Delta and FedEX
L1011: 1. ATA, 2. AirLanca, Iberia & Martinair, 3. TWA, LTU, Eastern, Braniff & Fine Air
Click to view in www. airliners.net
B737-100 & 200: 1. PeoplExpress, 2. Frontier 3. USA Air, United, Midway, Aerolineas Argentinas,  AirMadagaskar & Pacific Western
B737-7 to 9: 1. Malev, 2. Norwegian Air shuttle, KLM, SAS, Kukula & Jet Airways, 3. fifteen assorted airlines
B727-100 & 200: 1. Libyan, 2. Varig, UPS, DHL, PeoplExpress, USA Air & TAA, 3. twenty more assorted airlines.
B707: 1. PanAm, 2. Air Seycheles & Air Mauritius, 3. American Airlines & TWA
Notice all first places are kingdoms held by one airline while second and third place is often shared. Give a nice clean results image

I was quite impressed to see a lot of  Middle East such as Iraq and Libyan, as well as African airlines. Birds we rarely meet in airports.

Along with the votes, we had some very useful hints and pleads by collectors towards manufacturers. Specifically, they are asking from Inflight to correct the cockpit windows of the DC-10. The B707-320 mold is more like the B707-320B/C mold. Correct the PanAm Logo on the B707's and please prefer making polished as opposed to chrome models when they are like American Airlines.

Thank you all for contributing to this "vote" and hope Inflight 200 has heard our opinions. Let them roll out guys!
